1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and BankStatementIO ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the BankStatementIO website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. They contain important information about your legal rights, remedies, and obligations. By using the Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility & Age Restrictions

The Service is intended for use by individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction;
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
  • You are not barred from using the Service under applicable law;
  • You will use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

MINORS PROHIBITED: The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete all associated data.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security & Confidentiality

You are solely responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password and API keys;
  • All activities that occur under your account, whether or not authorized by you;
  • Restricting access to your account and any devices used to access the Service;
  • Ensuring that your account information remains secure at all times.

3.3 Security Breach Notification

You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of:

  • Any unauthorized access to or use of your account;
  • Any breach of security, including compromise of your password or API keys;
  • Any unauthorized use of the Service through your account;
  • Any other security incident related to your use of the Service.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these security obligations.

3.4 Account Responsibilities

By creating an account, you agree to accept full responsibility for all activities conducted through your account. You acknowledge that you are responsible for any harm caused by anyone using your account with or without your permission.

4. Service Description

BankStatementIO provides automated parsing and data extraction services for bank statement documents in PDF format. The Service includes:

  • Automated extraction of transaction data from PDF bank statements;
  • Conversion of extracted data to structured formats (JSON, CSV, Excel);
  • API access for programmatic integration with your systems;
  • Web dashboard for document management and result retrieval;
  • Historical storage of parsing results for your reference.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice, subject to Section 18 (Changes to Service).

5. Credits, Fees & Refunds

5.1 Credit System

The Service operates on a credit-based system. Credits are required to process documents and are consumed as follows:

  • Credits are deducted based on the number of pages or transactions processed;
  • The credit cost per document varies based on document complexity and length;
  • Credit consumption rates are displayed before processing begins;
  • New accounts receive complimentary credits for trial purposes.

5.2 Credit Purchases & Pricing

Credits may be purchased through our website. By purchasing credits, you agree that:

  • All prices are displayed in the currency indicated at the time of purchase;
  • Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice;
  • You authorize us to charge your selected payment method for the total amount;
  • Purchased credits do not expire as long as your account remains active.

5.3 Fee Changes

We reserve the right to modify our pricing and fee structure at any time. Any changes to fees will:

  • Be communicated to you via email or dashboard notification at least thirty (30) days before taking effect;
  • Not affect credits already purchased before the change;
  • Apply to all new credit purchases after the effective date.

5.4 Refund Policy

Our refund policy is as follows:

  • Automatic Refunds: If document parsing fails due to a system error on our part, credits will be automatically refunded to your account;
  • No Refunds for Used Credits: Credits that have been successfully used for document processing are non-refundable;
  • Unused Credits: Purchased but unused credits are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law;
  • Exceptional Circumstances: Refund requests for exceptional circumstances may be submitted to [email protected] and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Important: All credit purchases are final. Please ensure you understand our Service before making a purchase. We recommend using free trial credits to evaluate the Service first.

6. User Content

6.1 Your Content

"User Content" refers to any files, documents, data, or other materials you upload, submit, or transmit through the Service. You retain all ownership rights in your User Content.

6.2 Content Representations

By uploading User Content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to upload and process the content;
  • The content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • You have obtained all necessary consents for any personal data contained in the content;
  • The content does not contain any malicious code, viruses, or harmful components.

6.3 License Grant

By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, analyze, and temporarily store your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. This license terminates when the content is deleted from our systems.

6.4 Content Retention

Uploaded PDF files are processed and then automatically deleted from our systems. Parsed results are retained in your account for your access until you delete them or close your account.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms. Specifically, you shall not:

7.1 Illegal Activities

  • Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose;
  • Process documents obtained through illegal means;
  • Use the Service to facilitate money laundering, tax evasion, or financial fraud;
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.

7.2 Unauthorized Access

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems;
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service;
  • Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service without authorization;
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or networks.

7.3 Service Abuse

  • Overload, flood, or otherwise impair the proper functioning of the Service;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service;
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service without our written consent;
  • Use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.

7.4 Content Restrictions

  • Upload documents that you do not own or have authorization to process;
  • Process documents containing malware, viruses, or harmful code;
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

8.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, functionality, software, code, algorithms, designs, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by BankStatementIO or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Limited License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes. This license does not include the right to:

  • Modify, copy, or create derivative works based on the Service;
  • Reverse engineer, disassemble, or decompile any part of the Service;
  • Remove any proprietary notices or labels on the Service;
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted.

8.3 Your Data

You retain all intellectual property rights in your User Content. The parsed output data generated from your documents belongs to you. However, our parsing technology, algorithms, and methods remain our exclusive property.

9. Copyright Policy & DMCA

9.1 Copyright Infringement Policy

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same. We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law and are properly provided to us.

9.2 DMCA Notice Procedure

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide our Copyright Agent with the following information in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA):

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with sufficient detail to locate it;
  4. Your contact information (address, telephone number, and email address);
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

9.3 DMCA Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was wrongly removed due to a DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notice containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and its previous location;
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake;
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and consent to jurisdiction of the federal court in your district.

9.5 Repeat Infringers

We reserve the right to terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyrighted works.

10. Analytics & Data Collection

10.1 Analytics Data

We collect and analyze usage data to improve the Service. This may include:

  • Usage patterns and feature utilization;
  • Error logs and performance metrics;
  • Device information and browser type;
  • Aggregated and anonymized usage statistics.

10.2 Anonymized Data

We may use anonymized and aggregated data derived from your use of the Service for research, analytics, and service improvement purposes. Such data will not identify you personally.

10.3 Third-Party Analytics

We may use third-party analytics services to help understand Service usage. These services may collect information about your use of the Service subject to their own privacy policies.

11. Error Reporting & Feedback

11.1 Feedback Submission

You may provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, or error reports ("Feedback") to us regarding the Service. By submitting Feedback, you agree that:

  • We are under no obligation to keep Feedback confidential;
  • We may use and implement Feedback without any obligation to compensate you;
  • You grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use Feedback for any purpose;
  • You waive any rights to claim compensation for Feedback used by us.

11.2 Error Reporting

We encourage you to report errors, bugs, or issues with the Service. Error reports help us improve the Service and should be submitted to [email protected].

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services that are not owned or controlled by BankStatementIO.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for:

  • The content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites;
  • Any damage or loss caused by your use of third-party websites;
  • The accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of third-party content.

We strongly advise you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit. Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk.

13. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT;
  • WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF PARSING RESULTS;
  • WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE;
  • WARRANTIES THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED OR THAT THE SERVICE IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

You acknowledge that you use the Service at your sole risk. Any reliance on parsing results or Service output is at your own discretion and risk. You are responsible for verifying all output against original documents before making any decisions based on such output.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BANKSTATEMENTIO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

In no event shall BankStatementIO, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses;
  • Damages resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service;
  • Damages resulting from any conduct or content of any third party;
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your content;
  • Damages resulting from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in parsing results.

TOTAL LIABILITY CAP: Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BankStatementIO and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against all claims, losses, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the Service;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any rights of any third party;
  • Your User Content or any content you submit through the Service;
  • Any unauthorized use of your account credentials.

16. Termination

16.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  • Using the account deletion feature in your account settings; or
  • Contacting us at [email protected].

16.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, if:

  • You breach any provision of these Terms;
  • You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity;
  • We are required to do so by law or court order;
  • Your account has been inactive for more than twelve (12) months;
  • We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice where practicable).

16.3 Effects of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to access and use the Service will immediately cease;
  • Any unused credits in your account will be forfeited;
  • We may delete your account data after a 30-day retention period;
  • Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

17.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

17.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved as follows:

  1. Informal Resolution: Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days;
  2. Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be finally resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with Indonesian arbitration laws;
  3. Venue: Any arbitration or legal proceedings shall take place in Jakarta, Indonesia.

17.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

18. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. This includes:

  • Adding, modifying, or removing features and functionality;
  • Changing supported file formats or bank statement types;
  • Updating system requirements or API specifications;
  • Temporarily or permanently discontinuing the Service.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes that may materially affect your use of the Service. However, we shall not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

19. Amendments to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make changes:

  • We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of these Terms;
  • For material changes, we will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Service at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect;
  • Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms;
  • If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
